The Painted Bird Trail is a grassroots art project by local artist Ryan Henry, owner of Meridian & Muse Fine Art Gallery on South Padre Island. Each bird is a life-size mini mural painted directly on the exterior of a participating local business. Bird species are painted once and never repeated on the same trail.
Visitors explore the trail using the free interactive map or a printable trail map. The app includes bird species facts, business details with hours and directions, and a collection game where you check off each bird as you find it.
